How do I attach receipts and documents in Kontuly?

Applies to Kontuly 0.2 beta Updated

In Kontuly you can attach files to bank lines, invoices, bills, credit notes, quotes and contracts: drag them onto the Attachments panel, or click Attach files…. Attachments are kept inside your books, so every backup includes them.

  1. Open the record.
    • A bank line: in Banking, hover over the line and click the paperclip at the end of the row.
    • A document: open the invoice, bill, credit note, quote or contract. The Attachments panel is under it. Save a new document as a draft first.
  2. Add the files. Drag them onto the Attachments panel, or click Attach files… and choose one or more.

Lines with attachments show the paperclip in green with the number of files.

Which files can I attach?

PDFs, images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, TIFF), text and CSV files, Word and Excel files (.docx, .xlsx), OpenDocument files and saved emails (.eml), up to 15 MB each. Older .doc and .xls files aren't accepted, because they can carry macros, and programs or scripts are refused.

How do I open, save or remove one?

  • Click the file's name to open it in your usual app. You're looking at a temporary copy, so changes there aren't saved back.
  • Click the download icon to Save a copy somewhere else.
  • Click the bin to remove it, then confirm.

Why can't I remove an attachment?

An attachment on an approved invoice, bill or credit note, or on a coded bank line, dated on or before your lock date can't be removed, so the paperwork behind a closed period stays with it. You can still add files.

Will attachments make my backups big?

Large scans do. A phone photo or a 150–200 dpi scan is plenty for a receipt.
