How do I print a bank reconciliation report in Kontuly?

Applies to Kontuly 0.2 beta Updated

Open Bank Reconciliation in Kontuly from All reports under Banking, or click Report on the Reconcile screen. Choose the bank account and As at date, and it explains the difference between your books and the bank statement, ready to export for your accountant.

  1. Open the report.
  2. Choose the Account (it starts on your first bank account).
  3. Set As at. For year end, use the year-end date, after you've reconciled up to it.
  4. Click Export PDF.

What's on it?

  1. Balance per ledger: the account's balance in your books at the date.
  2. Add: payments not yet on the statement: money out recorded but not yet ticked in a reconciliation (unpresented payments).
  3. Less: deposits not yet on the statement: money in recorded but not yet ticked (outstanding deposits).
  4. Balance per bank statement: what the statement should show.

Why doesn't it agree with my statement?

  • The account isn't reconciled to that date. Entries after the last reconciliation are listed as unpresented or outstanding, and a note says so. Reconcile up to the date first.
  • The account has never been reconciled. Every entry is treated as not yet on the statement.

When you run it as at a reconciled statement date, a check confirms it agrees with the statement balance you entered. If that check warns, something dated on or before that statement date has changed since you reconciled.
