How do I export a report to PDF or CSV in Kontuly?

Applies to Kontuly 0.2 beta Updated

Every report in Kontuly has Export PDF and CSV buttons at the top right. Set the period, date and options you want on screen first: both exports use exactly what's showing.

  1. Open the report and set its period or As at date and options.
  2. Click Export PDF for a printable copy laid out as on screen, or CSV for a spreadsheet.
  3. Choose where to save it. You'll see "PDF saved" or "CSV saved" with the file's location.

What's in the PDF?

The report as on screen, with a heading showing your business name, the period or date, your ABN if you've entered one, the currency and when it was prepared. The file name starts with your business name, the report name and the period, for example "Harbour & Co - Profit and Loss - 2026-07-01 to 2026-09-30.pdf". Wide reports (the General Ledger, the aged reports and the GST Report in Detail view) print in landscape.

What's in the CSV?

The same rows and columns, with the report heading at the top. Amounts are plain numbers with a minus sign for negatives, and dates are year-month-day, so they're easy to work with in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

What should I keep for each BAS?

A PDF of the GST Report for the period. See How do I prepare my BAS figures?

What does my accountant usually want?

At year end: the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, General Ledger and Bank Reconciliation for each account. Kontuly can also export your books in formats Australian practices import; see Kontuly for accountants and bookkeepers.
