What does the Kontuly Dashboard show?
The Kontuly Dashboard answers two questions at a glance: what needs doing, and how the business is going. Every card and every row in Needs attention is a link to the screen where you deal with it, and the figures are worked out from your books each time you open it.
The summary cards
- Cash at bank: the balance in your books of every bank and cash account, with how many bank transactions are waiting to be coded. It matches your bank only once every transaction is imported and coded; reconciling is how you prove the two agree.
- Profit this financial year: income minus expenses from the start of the financial year to today, compared with the same stretch last year.
- Owed to you: what customers owe on approved invoices, with any overdue amount in amber. Click it for the Aged Receivables report.
- You owe: what you owe suppliers on approved bills, with any overdue amount.
- GST payable this period (or refund): the GST result for the current BAS period, or the period just ended while its BAS is still due, with the period dates and due date. If you aren't registered for GST, this card shows Income this financial year instead.
The due date follows the usual rules for businesses that lodge their own BAS. If a registered agent lodges for you, your due dates may be later.
Income and expenses chart
Income and expenses for each of the last 12 months. View as table shows the same figures, with profit, as a table.
Needs attention
Bank transactions to review (one row per bank account), up to five of the most overdue invoices and bills, and how many draft invoices and bills are waiting to be approved. When there's nothing, it says You're all caught up.

The Getting started checklist
A new business shows a Getting started panel with six steps, such as Add your logo and payment details, Bring in your bank transactions and Set up off-site copies. Each ticks itself off when Kontuly sees it done. Click Dismiss to hide it for that business on this computer.
Why is there an amber banner about off-site copies?
Once off-site copies are set up, an amber banner appears if the newest copy is a week old or more, or the backup folder can't be found. Plugging the drive back in is usually all it takes.
