How does the Cash Flow Forecast work in Kontuly?

Applies to Kontuly 0.2 beta Updated

Kontuly's Cash Flow Forecast, under Banking in All reports, starts from the cash in all your bank accounts on a date and shows the Money in, Money out and Cash balance for each of the next 13 weeks. It's built from what customers owe, what you owe suppliers, and what your recurring templates will make.

What's counted?

  • Money in: unpaid invoices at their due dates, plus the invoices your active recurring templates will make.
  • Money out: approved, unpaid bills at their due dates, plus the bills your active recurring templates will make.
  • Anything already overdue is expected in the first week.
  • Foreign-currency invoices and bills count at their value in Australian dollars.

Tick Detail to list each invoice, bill and recurring document behind the figures. A note warns you if the balance goes below zero.

What's left out?

  • Draft invoices and bills, and unused credit.
  • GST and PAYG payments to the ATO.
  • Wages.
  • Paused recurring templates.
  • Anything not recorded as an invoice, bill or recurring template.

So if you pay rent or wages by bank transfer with no bill, add a recurring bill for them to see them in the forecast, or allow for them yourself, together with your BAS payments.

How accurate is it?

As accurate as your due dates. Customers who pay late will make reality lag the forecast; check your Aged Receivables for who's overdue.
