How do I undo or redo a conversion in Kontuly?
To undo or redo a conversion in Kontuly, restore the backup taken automatically just before the import: open Settings → Backups, find the Manual backup from that time and click Restore as new business. A business can only be converted once, so you convert again into the restored copy.
- Open Settings in the converted business and scroll to Backups.
- Find the Manual backup taken just before the import.
- Click Restore as new business. Kontuly creates a new business from it; the converted business stays as it is.
- Convert into the restored business from Import & export → Convert from another package. See How do I convert my books from another package?
- Delete the business you don't need once you're happy. See How do I delete a business?
"This is the conversion journal … it can't be voided on its own"
The conversion journal holds the opening balances brought across from your old package, and the converted invoices and bills depend on it, so it can't be voided from the Journals screen. Restore the backup as above instead.
"This business was converted from another package"
The Convert from another package tab says this in a business that has already been converted. Restore the backup taken before the import, or start a new business, to convert again.
Can I fix a small mistake without starting again?
Sometimes. A missing contact can simply be added, and a balance in the wrong account can be moved with a manual journal (ask your accountant if you're unsure). An account that came in as the wrong type can't change type once it has a balance. Start again when the files themselves were wrong, for example a trial balance at the wrong date, or when several accounts came in as the wrong type.
