Can I keep more than one business in Kontuly?
Yes. Kontuly keeps several businesses, for example your own and one you do the books for, each with completely separate books, settings and backups. Add one with New business and move between them from the business name at the top of the sidebar.
Add another business
- Click the business name at the top of the sidebar.
- Click New business at the bottom of the list.
- Work through the setup wizard, the same four steps as your first business, then click Create business. See How do I set up my first business?
Click Cancel at any point to close the wizard without creating anything.
Switch between businesses
- Click the business name at the top of the sidebar (Switch business is shown underneath).
- Choose another business. The current one has a tick.
You stay on the same screen, now showing the business you picked. The screen reloads completely, so nothing carries over from one business to another.
How many businesses can I have?
Your licence sets the number: up to 5 during the trial, and from 2 to unlimited depending on the licence. See Which Kontuly licences are there? If you have more businesses than your licence covers, the extras open read-only; see Why is one of my businesses read-only?
Is anything shared between businesses?
No. Each has its own accounts, contacts, currency, tax rates, settings and backups. Two things are app-wide: light or dark mode, and running in the background.
