I restored a Kontuly backup and now I have two businesses

Applies to Kontuly 0.2 beta Updated

That's expected. Restoring a backup in Kontuly always creates a new, separate business, so your original books are never overwritten. Choose the one you want to keep working in, and delete the other.

  1. Compare the two. Use the business switcher at the top of the sidebar to move between them. The restored one has "(restored …)" and a date in its name if the names matched.
  2. Pick one to keep. Anything you enter in one never appears in the other, so work in only one.
  3. Turn reminders back on if you keep the restored copy: it starts with overdue reminders off and recurring templates paused. Tick Send overdue reminders in Settings, and resume templates in Recurring.
  4. Delete the other one with Delete this business…. A final backup of it is kept. See How do I delete a business?
  5. Rename the one you keep if you like, with Rename this business…. See How do I rename a business?

Why doesn't restoring replace my books?

So a restore can never wipe out work by accident. You can look through the restored copy, compare it with your current books and decide which to keep.

It says my licence doesn't allow another business

Each restore adds a business, so it counts toward your licence's limit. Delete a business you don't need first. See Why is one of my businesses read-only?
